The Association of Motorcycle Importers and Distributors (AMID) have prepared a Code of Conduct for users of motorcycles and quad bikes:

CODE OF CONDUCT: OFF ROAD RIDING
- Adhere to the manufacturer`s warnings and guidelines on the vehicle.
- Attend accredited training courses.
- Master the operation of your vehicle.
- Wear a helmet, goggles, gloves and other safety gear.
- Do not consume alcohol prior to and when riding.
- Obtain permission to enter / cross private property.
- Stay on designated routes and ride only where permitted.
- Ride only in areas open to quad and off road motorcycle use.
- Avoid wheel spinning / sliding.
- Cross streams only at designated areas.
- Avoid excessive noise and dust.
- Camp well away from water resources and trails and use existing established areas.
- Avoid sensitive habitats.
- Avoid startling wildlife and livestock.
- Consider others.
- Remove litter.
- Careless and inconsiderate riding and behaviour can damage the environment and may result in the closing of certain areas – ensure that you are not guilty of this.
